Tell us about your current role and what you like about your career and areas of focus.

I'm an international award-winning business consultant, international speaker and podcaster. I work with women in business to get all the pieces in place to have consistent 5-figure months and multiple 6-figure years—without burning out in the process.

I love being able to help women in business go from stuck, overwhelmed and with little profit in their business and moving them to clarity, strategy and profitability.

What inspires you, motivates you, helps you to make each day count?

Every day we wake up, and we have choices. We can make it count, or we can complain. I choose to make it count. What motivates me – are my family, my friends, but also the women out there that just need a little extra help along the way to make big things happen not only for themselves but for the world.

Outside of your professional work area, what hobbies or interests do you have or what other areas of your life are of real importance to you?

I love to travel. There is something magical about going to a new country. The food. The people. The smells. The memories that you get to create. Travel is what makes my heart full.

In addition – I'm very passionate about the topic of mental health. After being a mental health clinician for 15 years and also going through anxiety and depression (in mission for almost two years) this is a topic that needs to be talked about more to reduce our suicide rates around the world.

When it comes to your life chosen career, is there a phrase, quote, or saying that you really like?

Conversations = connections which = conversions.

What are you most proud of in your life?

I'm most proud of the way I show up, for my willingness to connect and bring humans together both in my coaching, but also in general.

I want people to remember me as being a woman who was a leader and cared for humanity.

What do you wish you had known when you started out?

I wish I would have known about the power and also the need for pay to play. What I mean by pay to play is – paying to for coaching, paying for masterminds – it's these paid relationships that open doors to opportunities.

Who do you most admire in business, academic or creative circles?

I admire the work of two of my good friends Denise Duffield-Thomas and Lisa Corduff. They show up. They keep shit real.

What companies, brands or institutions do you like or do you think are getting it right?

Those I mentioned above.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

Amber McCue said on her Instagram feed "you are right on time" and she's sooo very true. We all are exactly where we're suppose to be.

What drives or motivates you each day in a work environment?

My drive comes from within. There is so much I have left to do in this world, and I make each day the fullest. In regards to motivates me, my children, because I want to show them what impact we can make when you choose to lead; when you choose to show up; when you choose to be kind. And that the world isn't about us, it's about all of us.

What are your thoughts on the future of social media?

I feel there is a place for social media but only a place. People want human connection, and I feel the old will become the new again. People picking up the phone. In-person events. And these are things that social media doesn't do well.

What is your favourite social media platform, and why?

If I'm honest – I would rather have no social media and everything in person, but I know this can't happen and that not everyone likes face to face events. So my platform for social media would be Facebook but specifically groups. However, I equally love podcasting, but that's not a social media-specific platform.

Do you have a mentor, or have you ever been a mentor to anyone?

I pay anywhere from $25.000-$40.000 a year to be part of different masterminds, attend different in-person events, etc. There is always room to learn from others and grow. So yes, having a mentor is super essential for moving forward. For 2020 – I haven't found the right mastermind/mentor yet for what I need but am on the lookout daily.

In regard to mentoring anyone myself – I do this daily with my 1:1 clients, mastermind clients and 12-month group coaching clients. But I also mentor my intern and all the others that listen to my podcast every day and are active in my Facebook group Australian Business Collaborative. So regardless of paid or unpaid mentorship – yes, I do this daily.

How do you network? What is your prefered way to network?

I love attending in-person mastermind events that are at least two days long. The longer, the better because this is where the magic happens.

What advice would you have for someone looking to get into the same area of work?

Please if you're going to become a business consultant or coach – please have experience running a successful business. Taking a course on the back of a cereal box is going to impact others that you try to support to please ensure you have the right skill set.

If you have the right skill set – I would say make sure you set the foundations up correctly—your ideal client, your messaging, a conversational website, content strategy etc.

What do you feel is the most common reason for people failing or giving up?

Doing it alone. You can use only Google and Youtube so much. People allow pride to get in the way and don't ask for help, and this is compromising their growth substantially.

How do you define success, and what lessons have you learned so far that you could share with our audience?

Success is an individual. What I think is successful can be totally different from the next person.

So people need to know why they're doing what they are doing, in order to measure success.

What skills do you feel have helped you to become successful?

My mindset 150%, but also my organisation and ability to network because I believe your network = your networth.

Is there anything new that you are working on or involved in that you would like to share?

At the moment – I'm looking at breaking into the international market as this will allow me to support more women in business to reach their dreams and to help them make the impact they're here to make.

Would you like to share any positive message relating to the global pandemic COVID-19 situation?

Stay connected to your vision. Because your vision hasn't changed, only your plan has.
