Dr Chloe Carmichael

Dr Chloe Carmichael, PhD, is a highly accomplished clinical psychologist, author, and speaker focusing on stress management, relationship issues, self-esteem, and coaching. She earned her BA in Psychology with Departmental Honors from Columbia University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Dr Carmichael completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University in Brooklyn. She trained at Lenox Hill Hospital, Kings County Hospital, and other settings such as community clinics and academic centres.

Dr Carmichael is known and recognised for her exceptional work and achievements. She was invited to instruct undergraduate courses at Long Island University and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the City University of New York. Additionally, she has published academic work on psychotherapy through sources such as Guilford and presented at the Anxiety Disorders Association of America.

Aside from her academic achievements, Dr Carmichael is a highly sought-after media personality and has been featured on ABC Nightline, Inside Edition, VH1, and other television shows. She has also been quoted in numerous print media outlets, including The New York Times, Forbes, Vanity Fair, Shape, Cosmopolitan, and Rolling Stone.

Dr Carmichael's accomplishments extend beyond her career as a clinical psychologist. She is also a consultant at Baker McKenzie, the third-largest law firm in the world, and a sustaining member of the New York Junior League. Dr Carmichael has also volunteered her clinical and personal services to under-served populations, including homeless people, veterans with addictions, and poverty-level immigrants.

In 2021, Dr Carmichael authored the book Nervous Energy: Harness the Power of Your Anxiety, which Deepak Chopra endorsed. The book contains an entire chapter on mindfulness, in which Dr Carmichael is highly knowledgeable. She has been a certified yoga instructor since 2001 and completed coursework in Buddhism and meditation with Robert Tenzen-Thurman and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction as designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
