Tanjia Coleman

Dr Tanjia M. Coleman is the president of Reimagine Organization Development, Inc. (ReimagineOD). The company consults with clients to ensure their customised diversity and leadership solutions align with their projected organisational and business outcomes. Tanjia works with a team of industry experts combining years of experience with proven results, and works within Fortune 500 organisations, non-profit, early childhood, healthcare, and higher learning educational institutions.

Tanjia has held senior human resources and organisational development roles during her professional journey. Her expertise has included senior roles from non-profit organisations to Fortune 100 companies such as Microsoft, Starbucks, Tribune Company, Whirlpool, Sears, and Motorola.

In addition to leading ReimagineOD, Dr Coleman contributes to academia as a faculty member at the Loyola University Quinlan School of Business. Tanjia is a founding member of their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Institute Certification Program, further cementing her commitment to fostering inclusive environments. She is also the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Lead at NorthShore University HealthSystem.

Tanjia's previous roles have been instrumental in shaping her approach to organisational development. As the Chief Human Resources Officer at the YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, a historic and influential women's organisation, she ensured the cultural and people infrastructure aligned with the community's needs. Her cultural transformation and talent management initiatives significantly advanced the organisation's strategy and operational outcomes.

Before her tenure at the YWCA, Dr Coleman served as the Senior Director of Human Resources at KinderCare Education, overseeing 20,000 employees across 1,700 locations. Her leadership was pivotal in transforming KinderCare Education from a company grappling with employee disengagement to one recognised in Gallup's Top 37 companies to work.

Dr Coleman's passion for advancement is evident in her numerous leadership development certifications, including Benchmarks 360, Forte Communication, Behavioral-IQ, Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), DiSC, Strengths Finders, Servant, and Situational Leadership. Her belief in the power of philanthropy has led her to affiliate with several organisations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the KIND fund (UNICEF), Imerman Angels, YWCA, and Feed My Starving Children.

In January 2016, Tanjia earned her PhD in Organization Development from Benedictine University. She has made significant academic contributions, presenting research papers, being a reviewer and discussant at various academic institutes, and publishing her work in the Recherches en Sciences de Gestion 2015 publication. She also holds a Master of Science in Industrial and Employee Relations from Loyola University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from DePaul University.
